Oct7th

1st food not bombs went pretty well. There was a lot of help through out the day. We got a lot of great food and delicious peaches. They were so sweet and ripe. Jack Moffitt took some nice pictures of the food before it was prepared.

Last week there was the New York Trip, and it was raining, so stuff couldn't really get going.

I unfortunately can't keep up with doing Food Not Bombs Servings on Fridays, I have a Friday class, and I personally will admit that I bit off more than I can chew this semester.

SO there will be a food not bombs meeting Wednesday the 15th in the Student Lounge @ 8pm, For anyone interested in trying to keep the ball going with this Chapter. I will be able to help out with collecting food still of people are interested. This is a really great cause and I hope others can give what they can to make it work. If not next year there will be a CS200 class for people who want to do community service and make art work based off of it, and get CREDIT. Which is cool.

There is no Food Not Bombs this week because Coastal Grocers has no food for us this week. Which is a first. They are the biggest contributors each week.

So if anyone read this thank you for your interest.

New Semester

Hey

There will be a Food Not Bombs meeting tonight at 8pm in the Student Lounge @ Montserrat. I have uploaded some images from last week's collection. We didn't serve, and we probably won't serve every week. But I will be collecting every Thursday, so it will be possible to serve the following Friday. Last week we got a lot of fresh corn husks and organic baby carrots, great bagels and pastries. We won't be serving next Friday either. I think we can plan for the first serving day to be the 24th. Thank you.

HEY, sorry about any confusion. There will be two more food not bombs servings. Then it is over until fall. But my boyfriend Carmen and I did it last Friday. A woman from Suaguas came over and helped us set up outside, she said she was interested in starting her own chapter. She might come help out again. We got another offer of help from a woman named Sue, from Beverly. She might come help out again. Kristine helped us put stuff away. We served vegetables and rice, with bagels, chips, oranges.

April 16th 2010

Today we didn't serve outside again because of the weather. We got a lot of fresh veggies and made a soup though in hopes of donating it to the RIVER house. We made the soup, cauliflower, Broccoli, peppers, beets, carrots, brussel sprouts, rice, and green beans. We for got to add the squash. We also had an abundance of breads bagels, chips, and baked goods. We also got cream cheese, and baby carrots.

So when we were done cooking we headed over the the river house and it was closed. So we put everything outside the door except for the soup because it is in the school's large Home Depot thermos. So I wen back again around 3, still no one. I had to go to work Pretty soon after that. So I still have all the soup! The river house is not open on the weekends, so I may have to take a trip (after work) to the Salem Life Bridge house. We'll see. But yeah, lots of good food, can't wait to serve outside again. Sorry no pictures.

Last Thursday and Firday

Thursday we collected from "What's Brewing" and "Coastal Grocers". The Daily Bagel wasn't able to give us anything. But we were able to collect 1 loaf of bread 5 bags of potatoes, a bunch of lemons and some overly ripe pears.

We were not able to serve this Friday because it rained all day. But me and Erik Donated all that food to the Shelter in Salem.
